Leonie Cohen and Nicky Crayson are two of Australia’s finest jazz musicians. Together with Hugh Fraser on double bass and drummer Nic Cecire, the quartet will present a sublime mix of jazz standards and originals and delve into material from Cohen’s recently released classical album “Pages Suite (Anne Frank Remembered)”.
Leonie Cohen has released two albums commissioned by the ABC, performed extensively with cabaret diva Christa Hughes and toured with David Campbell. She has composed several Opera House commissioned scores and played in the sell-out 2014 Opera House season of Club Swizzle (La Soirée).
At sixteen, Nicky Crayson become lead singer with the band “Galapagos Duck”, recording on their platinum-selling album, “Endangered Species”, as well as performing regularly at The Basement. Crayson has continuously toured throughout Australia in the last 3 decades and played support for international acts including Tony Bennett and Mark Murphy.
