Headlining this year’s festival is thrilling New York band Nefesh Mountain (“where Bluegrass and Jewish traditions meet… and fall madly in love!”). Critically acclaimed by Rolling Stone and Billboard magazines, Doni Zasloff and Eric Lindberg together with their band are pioneers of a transcendent new genre – fusing the apparently disparate worlds of American Appalachian and Jewish traditions! Refreshingly eclectic, wildly spiritual.
Doni Zasloff, a multi award winning singer, songwriter and author and a beloved presence on stage throughout the US, is regarded as one of the most influential Jewish Performers in the twenty-first century. Along with husband Eric Lindberg, a graduate with honours from Mason Gross School of the Arts with a degree in Jazz performance, Doni and Eric bring their multi-faceted talents directly to Nefesh Mountain.
Their debut album entitled “Nefesh Mountain” was released in 2016 to immediate critical acclaim. For their second outing “Beneath The Open Sky” Doni and Eric teamed up alongside bluegrass luminaries including Sam Bush and Jerry Douglas as well as band members Alan Grubner and Tim Kiah to delve even deeper into the two beautiful realms of bluegrass music and Jewish culture.
