Klezmer Divas, featuring vocalist Fay Sussman, are returning to Shir Madness after a highly successful tour of Poland which included a sold out performance at the recently opened POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews on the site of the former Warsaw Ghetto. Highlights of the tour, which took in 5 Polish towns and included radio and television interviews, was featured in “Pockets of Hope”, the new documentary produced by Shir Madness film producer Judy Menczel. Pockets of Hope was one of the standout films at the recent Jewish International Film Festival (JIFF) in Sydney and Melbourne and will shortly be exhibited at film festivals around the world. Following the Melbourne screening Fay was invited to speak at the Melbourne Holocaust Centre about the power of music to build bridges, heal wounds and unite communities in peace and friendship. Accompanying Fay is an outstanding band including multi-instrumentalist Eddie Bronson, Emily-Rose Sarkova ,John Maddox and violin virtuoso Shenzo Gregorio (FourPlay). Klezmer Divas have performed at numerous festivals including Woodford folk festival, Bellingen Global Festival, Canberra National Folk Festival and given performances in Byron Bay, Sunshine Coast, Nambour, Melanie, New Zealand and Perth.
