My name is Cecilia Hwang. I am of Korean background and I immigrated to Australia in 1988. I am currently working as a registered nurse and live in Sydney with my husband and two children.
After having a busy lifestyle as a working mum, I have been able to immerse myself into one of my greatest passions in life – art. I have submitted two works that encapsulate the raw beauty of the natural environment. I have travelled throughout this country since living in Australia and have been inspired by the untouched beauty that Mother Nature brings. During my journeys, I have met a variety of people, from farmers in rural Australia, to the elderly who adore the unhurried country life, to taking Aboriginal children on excursions to the coast for the first time.
My relationships and conversations with different people from all walks of life, has given me more perspective and understanding of the world around us. I believe being accepting of everyone’s unique and individual nature, makes this world a better place.
For this exhibition, I want to share my experience of nature and express this through my artwork and hopefully others can find inspiration in our natural environment.
