Born and bred in Sydney, Helpmann Award nominee Alexis Fishman has lived in New York City since 2008 and performs extensively in cabaret and off-Broadway theatre. Before moving to New York Alexis starred in some of Australia’s biggest musicals including Dusty, Shout! and the award-winning Sydney premiere of Kiss of The Spiderwoman.
Alexis’ body of work has gravitated almost wholly to Jewish themes and she prides herself on taking on Jewish topics and presenting them with a twist. Her new show “Amy: Reimagined” is a cabaret celebrating the life and music of Amy Winehouse, a “little Jewish girl from North London” who went to Hebrew school and celebrated Shabbat on Friday nights.
